The Laboratory of Range Science is well equipped to train undergraduate and postgraduate students in subjects related to the management and improvement of rangeland ecosystems. Training includes courses taught at the campus and in field excursion during the  spring semesters as well as practical exercises at the University Forests of Pertouli (Trikala) and Taxiarchis (Chalkidiki) during the summer period.

The Laboratory of Range Science has the necessary laboratory and field infrastructure for carrying out research and it is already involved in several national and European projects. In addition, it actively cooperates with governmental agencies, private companies and NGOs in solving practical  problems of management and improvement of rangeland ecosystems
